Up

In November 1987 I spent some time on top of Lesotho with an AS350B taking supplies from Mokhotlong and Thaba-Tseka to villages that were hit by very late snow falls.

35mm pictures are still in a box... Somewhere!?

Below are some pictures of the construction of a repeater station about 30 miles north of Qacha's Nek.

Sehonghong Airport (FXSH).

Top of Thaba Patsoe, 9260 ft. The construction team is mesuring out the site.

The cell phone tree... The only reception to be had, one step away from that spot... end of coms.

Bringing in one of the first loads. There are about 75 tones of material to be brought up.

Loads waiting for their turn.

Things are taking shape.

Up she goes

Getting hooked up... Dusty!

Up, up and away...

The building that will house the transmission equipment.

End product, a repeater for radio and TV signals. They are still fitting the antennas.
